Bracket Picture

The qualification pathway narrows significantly as teams navigate the preliminary stage groups, where only the group winners advance to the main tournament draw. Established regional contenders including Uzbekistan powerhouse PFC Nasaf and Thailand's College of Asian Scholars have dictated terms in their mini-tournaments. The main draw awaits, where continental heavyweights such as Wuhan Jiangda, Melbourne City, and Tokyo Verdy Beleza await automatic placement. With only the top finishers punching their ticket to the twelve-team main stage, dropped points in the opening round-robin clashes have swiftly ended hopes for several hopeful entrants across the continent.

Underdogs Still Alive

Several emerging sides have mounted spirited campaigns in the preliminary mini-tournaments, seeking breakthrough continental success against established regional powers. Cambodian outfit Phnom Penh Crown embraced home advantage during their qualification tests, while Bhutan's Royal Thimphu College FC and Philippine champions Kaya FC–Iloilo demonstrated resilience across demanding match schedules. Although the step up against established professional setups remains steep, these underdog outfits have delivered notable performances, proving that investment across developing Asian leagues continues to elevate standards across the continental landscape.
