Cup Overview

The King Mindaugas Cup returns for the 2026/27 campaign, with domestic clubs currently beginning their journey in the preliminary group stage. As teams look to secure their place in the knockout bracket, the focus shifts to individual form and tactical preparation. These early fixtures offer essential opportunities for local sides to establish their momentum and stake a claim for the later rounds of the competition.

Bracket Picture

The tournament is currently in its group phase, where clubs are fighting to progress toward the Final Four. With the showcase confirmed for Žalgiris Arena in February, teams are balancing their rotations with the need to secure vital points in their respective groups.

Fixtures in Focus

The upcoming action features a significant clash as Gargždai Basketball hosts BC Jurbarkas-Karys on October 6. This matchup serves as a vital test for both sides as they attempt to improve their standing, with the home side viewed as heavy favourites to claim the result. These fixtures are pivotal for establishing early authority in the bracket.

Underdogs Still Alive

The group stage provides a platform for smaller professional clubs to test their mettle against rivals. While BC Jurbarkas-Karys faces a difficult task in their upcoming road fixture, their ability to remain competitive will define their campaign. Every point earned during this phase is essential for outsiders attempting to disrupt the conventional order and potentially advance into the deeper knockout rounds of the King Mindaugas Cup.
